One of the last and most beautiful one-ton boats is for sale.

The "Universitas" was designed by Bruce Farr and built by Franklin in New Zealand in 1989. Her extremely light weight was achieved by using carbon/kevlar and honeycomb for the construction. During its lifetime, the vessel has been lovingly cared for by her owners. The boat has undergone continuous attendance and maintenace during the winter months and is in excellent (almost original) condition. The simple interior, too, is in relatively good repair.

The boat has participated in many regattas and been very succesful. Launched as "Saudade III", she sailed to many victories under the guidance of Albert Bull, later named "Abap 4" further victories were added by Hasso Plattner. In the last years she sailed successfully as "Universitas" throughout the Baltic Sea in the hands of the ASVzR with a crew consisting predomanantly of students. Here ideal crew consists of 6 to 9 crew members.
